My sweet Ava

My Ava is three AND three quarters already!  My sweet baby girl is going to be FOUR years old in just a few months.  There is something about three that still seems so little & for some reason, four seems so much bigger!  As I was snuggling with her before her afternoon nap the other day, it hit me like a flood that my baby girl is growing up, right before my eyes!  Almost every afternoon as I tuck my Ava & my Anibella in for their afternoon naps, Ava asks me if I am going to take a nap with her & her baby sissy.  She always asks me so sweetly & oh, how I wish I could, every single day!  Usually, I need to finish up school with my big girls so we just cuddle a while & then they fall asleep.  Well, this day after I cuddled with my Anibella & put her in her crib, I lingered with my Ava for a while after she fell asleep & I cried.  It was a good, sweet, "I'm so grateful for my baby girl" cry.  It was a "Thank you God for my little Ava" cry.  It was a "God, you have been SO good to me!" cry.  It was a fresh reminder to stop, get down on her level, look into her precious blue eyes, try to understand what she is thinking & feeling in her little toddler world & ENJOY her!  Ava is the kind of little girl that is sweet, sincere, genuine, lovable, cuddly & precious pretty much all the time!  (We all know that there is the sinful nature involved so, of course, she has her moments!)  I want to savor every moment with all of my girls!  I am so grateful & so incredibly blessed that God has allowed me to be my girls' Mommy!  I always want to remember what a gift & an honor it is!  That day was such a sweet reminder of this amazing gift!  So, here are some sweet pictures of my precious little THREE for-just-a-little-while-longer Ava Grace!

I asked Ava if she could jump off of the stool & this is what she did!  I LOVE it!
This is my classic sweet Ava look!  She is such a sweet, sincere, lovable little toddler!
Our sweet Daddy was blowing bubbles for Ava & Anibella!
My sweet Ava said she was going to "sit still like a big girl!" & she definitely did!
Here Ava is "falling.......with STYLE!"  (like Buzz Lightyear!)  This was after she jumped off of the stool & tried to land as gracefully as she could!  It was so funny & cute!
Oh, how I love my sweet little Ava Gracie!
Mommy said, "okay Baby, we're alllmost done with pictures!" & this cute little "YAAAAAAY!" was Ava's response!  Haha!

7 & 9 & 11.......OH MY! : )

My 3 big girlies just had birthday's!  Amy turned ELEVEN on December 6th, Ashley turned NINE on December 28th & Abby turned SEVEN on January 21st!   OH MY!

This is 3 birthday posts in one so it's very long!

(I was going to do individual posts right after each of their birthdays but then I decided to combine them all into one birthday post. Then I was going to write this right after Abby's birthday in January but then I thought I would wait until after her actual party. She is having a "Tangled" party with her little friends & we pre-ordered it on DVD/Blu-Ray so that she, her sissies & her little girl friends could watch it together at her party. It comes out on March 29th so we're having her party after that. She decided that she wanted to wait even though it is over 2 months after her birthday! She has always been a very patient little girl & her Mommy can learn a lot from her about that! : ) We didn't do "friend" parties for Amy & Ashley but Amy got to go to Arizona to be with Poppy, Gram, Auntie & Uncles for her birthday & Ashley got a special birthday lunch out with her little girlfriends. Aaaanyway, I decided that I didn't want to wait any longer to write this post so......here it is.) : )

I can hardly believe that my girlies are getting so big! I've been a Mommy for ELEVEN years & I am sincerely still amazed that I get to do this Mommy-ing thing to my 5 precious little girls! : )

Amy & Ashley are 2 years, 3 weeks & 1 day apart & Ashley & Abby are 2 years, 3 weeks & 3 days apart! I always thought it was pretty amazing how similar the spacing between them is! It was definitely God's planning & not ours! : ) Our girls having their birthdays got me thinking about how much they are growing up & what a joy it is to be their (all 5!) Mommy! My big girls just keep getting older, sweeter, more mature, more helpful with their baby sissies & around our home, more sensitive to God's working in their little hearts, more excited about one-on-one Mommy & BIG GIRL time &.......sometimes (& sometimes a smiiiidge more than just SOMEtimes!) ; ) more of the emotional-I'm-becoming-a-big-girl-&-I-don't-quite-know-what-to-do-with-these-strange-emotions-that-are-going-on-inside-of-my-heart kind of days!  : )  When we have more days like the latter, it's okay because I welcome the pre-teen, tween & teenage girl days completely. Everywhere we go people comment on how sweet & well-behaved our girls are but they always always always "warn" us about what's to come with F-I-V-E teenage girls!  : )  Needless to say, according to what they say I should expect, I will spend most of my days on my knees asking God for grace & mercy AND in deep conversation with my very talkative, deep-thinking girls!  (Okay, so needing God more & getting to explore my girls' hearts seems like a good thing to me!)  I know it will be hard, I know I DO & WILL fall hopelessly short of what I need to do this right & I know I will be utterly dependent upon my God to help me everyday! But, there is nothing else I would rather be doing!  So, I say.......bring it OOOOOOON!  : )  I love, I adore, I am crazy about my five little girls!  So, watching my 3 big girlies growing up before my very eyes & faster than I can seem to comprehend in the past few months has been bittersweet but wonderful at the same time!  My big girls are no longer "little" but it has been such a delight to watch them grow "up" in many ways!  I would say that for every struggle, every tear-filled response, every time I have to sit down & delve into the depths of one of my girls' hearts with her, I get to experience five : ) times as much sweetness, cuddles, love, thoughtful things they do for me, watching them cuddle their baby sissies, watching them work together for "team Palmer", seeing the sweet sweet, heart-melting friendship these little girls share & watching God work in & change their little hearts every day!

For all of our girls' birthdays, we had a separate family dinner party near their actual birthday. I thought that it was cute & funny that each of our 3 big girls chose the exact same "favorite" birthday dinner! For each of their special dinners we had steaks on the grill, broccoli, mashed potatoes & gravy, corn on the cob, rolls, sweet tea & homemade ice cream cakes! For each of their birthdays, we ate dinner, watched a movie, opened gifts & celebrated how much we love them & how precious they are to us! I love seeing our girls loving on each other & being excited for them to have their special day!

Amy got to go to Arizona (Thank you so much Poppy & Gram for your amazing generosity to make her trip happen! We are so grateful!) for her birthday week. She had SO much fun but, OH MY GOODNESS.....I MISSED my sweet Amy so SO so incredibly much while she was gone! She got to go horseback riding with Auntie, on a Starbucks date with Auntie, a manicure & pedicure with Auntie, she went out for the birthday dinner with Poppy & Gram, they drove around looking at Christmas lights & they rented one of Amy's favorite movies to watch at home! She got lots of special time with Auntie, Poppy & Gram & her cousin Koby & she had SO much fun!  A few days before her trip Amy & I went on a birthday date together since I knew she would be gone on her birthday. (I'm so happy she got to have such a special trip but it was definitely sad to be away from her on her birthday!) We went to Starbucks, Target & got her a new cute little outfit, jewelry & some other special things for her trip. We had so much fun together! (When I picked Amy up from the airport, she looked so beautiful & grown up! I was so happy to have her back in my arms & I could hardly believe how mature she seemed all of a sudden!) When she got home, we celebrated her birthday with a family dinner party with her favorite colors, turquoise & lime green! I usually do themed parties but she chose to just do colors this year since there was no theme that she really wanted. One of my favorite things was watching how happy Amy was to see all 4 of her little sissies & how happy they were to see her!  It was so SO sweet how they all ran to each other & they hugged & kissed & told each other how much they missed each other!  We watched one of her favorite movies & talked all about her trip!

Ashley had a "Narnia" family dinner party. We transformed our dining room into "Narnia" & we dined at "Aslan's Table"! Ashley & I had so much fun shopping & decorating for her party! We found shields & swords, compasses, a tiny glass pitcher for Lucy's "Fireflower juice", lots of candles in different size & shape candle holders, miniature Aslan figurines, plastic wine glasses (for sweet tea, of course!). Each of our girls wore their "Lucy" & "Susan" dresses they got for Christmas! They all looked so sweet! It looked so beautiful & I was actually surprised how much it looked like a magical scene straight out of Narnia! Ashley worked so hard to make it beautiful so she could surprise her sissies & "invite" them to dine with her at "Aslan's Table"! Ashley looked so grown-up & beautiful in her "Lucy" dress with her hair braided! We played Narnia-like music, lit all the candles & then she stood near her table & she said, "Will you please come dine with me?" as she did a cute little curtsy! It was so adorable & SO so precious that she wanted to surprise & bless THEM on HER birthday! We watched "Narnia" as her movie (of course!) to go with her theme!

Abby had a "Tangled" family dinner party & she'll have her "friend" party when we get the movie. I bought double of everything so that we could have it for us & then for her friend party. I made her a 7-foot-long Rapunzel wig (because she is SEVEN & just because 7 feet is really long!) out of light yellow yarn since she has very light blonde hair. Abby looked so adorable in her new little purple outfit (since Rapunzel wears a purple dress in the movie) & her "hair"! Amy, Ashley, Abby & Ava spent an entire day making beautiful Chinese lanterns (not exactly like in the movie, but pretty close!) to hang all over our dining room ceiling. They made close to 100 lanterns & hung them all at different heights. They did an amazing job & it looked so beautiful! When my Hubby came home that night he thought I did it & our girls were quite excited that Daddy thought it looked so pretty! It was so SO precious how Abby was so happy & grateful that her sissies got to help her decorate!  She was so sweet to want them to be such a big part of her day!  We bought individual little frying pans (if you haven't seen the movie, Rapunzel carries one throughout most of the movie!) & each of our girls got to eat their dinner out of them! It looked so sweet, perfect for my adorable little 7 year old & very Rapunzel-ish! We found the opening song (which my girlies love & have already memorized!) online & listened to it over & over as they sang at the top of their lungs!

I love my 5 sweet girlies so much! I'm so grateful for them & so amazed that God has given us such precious gifts!

Happy 7th Birthday to my little Abby Kate, Happy 9th Birthday to my little Ashley Noelle & Happy 11th Birthday to my little Amy Rose! Daddy, Mommy & all of your sissies love you all SO much!

Here are some pictures of my 3 big Birthday Girls!

We laughed SO hard taking this picture!  Ashley is helping be Amy's "eleventh" finger & it was SO funny!
 LOVE you all my Girlies!

My Anibella's Healthy Heart!

Eight months ago, at my sweet Anibella's routine, 9-month well-baby check-up, we were shocked to find out that her Pediatrician was very concerned about the way her heart sounded. All of Anibella's check-up's before then had been completely normal & we thought she was perfectly healthy. We have since changed Pediatrician's for many reasons, including how she handled this appointment.  After she listened to Anibella's chest, she drew back, made a face & abruptly said, "This doesn't sound right. Has she ever had a problem with her heart before? I don't like what I'm hearing. I'll be sending you to get an Echocardiogram asap!".  I was terrified & I felt like I was going to pass out!  I scooped my sweet baby girl up off of the exam table, checked out & needless to say, I left the office in tears! The Pediatrician gave us no other information & told us that her Echocardiogram was scheduled for a couple of days away. I so desperately wanted to go searching for answers but, I listened to my wise Hubby who encouraged me NOT to Google "heart conditions in baby's"! I'm so grateful for my wise & loving Hubby because I was already struggling enough without reading about all of the "what if's"! I just cried out to God for my sweet baby, pleaded with Him to heal her & asked for His grace for my anxious heart!  The next few days of waiting for her Echo were so hard!  I love my precious little Anibella Hope so so so much!  Every time I looked at her, a flood of emotions would fill my heart!  I was terribly scared for my sweet baby, grateful to God for my precious little treasure, doubting, fearing & desperately trying to trust God with it all!  I spent a lot of time cuddling her, praying for God to heal her & to give peace to my anxious Mommy-heart!  My 4  big girls were so sweet & helpful & we prayed together a lot for their baby sissy!  Anibella did amazing during her Echocardiogram! She was only 9 months old & she had to say completely still & quiet while a total stranger was rubbing the ultrasound wand all over her chest, tummy & neck for 20 minutes. If she had been too squirmy or fussy, we would have had to reschedule because, of course, an ultrasound is sensitive to sound & motion. I am so grateful that my Anibella was still nursing a lot because she just nursed the whole time, held onto Mommy with one hand & Daddy with the other hand & kept a watchful eye on the technician doing the Echo. The next day, I had to call to get the results, even though I fully expected them to realize that I was eagerly waiting to hear the results. I forget that they do this everyday so it's not as urgent to them. The Ped (the one we no longer see) said, "Is this Anibella's Mommy? Yes, the Echo showed that Anibella has ASD." I said, "What is ASD?" & she answered, "Oh, Anibella has a hole in heart. It may or may not close on it's own. We'll follow up with you in a few months. Have a nice day." I was fighting my fearful, anxious heart & trying desperately to talk to myself instead of listening to all of my fearful "what if's"! Before I even called my Hubby, I made the mistake of Googling "ASD" which stands for "Atrial Septal Defect" & was definitely scared by what I read. I waited until my Hubby got home from work to tell him because he manages a large group of people & he needs to be at the top of his game all day. So, I spent the rest of the day cuddling with my baby girl & praying for God to heal her. When I told him, he hugged me, cuddled Anibella & just started praying for God to heal her. He did what he always does, points me back to God & encourages me to trust Him. He reminded me that God loves our precious baby girl even more than we ever could & we love her SO much! My Hubby has a very tender place in his heart for our girlies so he was sad but I could tell that he was trusting God (way more than I was!) & that he really believed that God would protect Anibella! He is also a problem solver & has an innate desire to "fix" things & make them better for all of his girls. So, we both wanted & needed to know more. We ended up changing Pediatrician's & we found one that we really really love! (You know you have a good Ped when your 3 year-old gets a little "owie" & says, "Oh Mommy, do we get to go see Dr. Jain?" Haha!) : ) So, Dr. Jain read Anibella's Echo report & he explained in more detail about her ASD. He said that she most definitely had a "hole in her heart" but that he wanted us to start over from the beginning by seeing an actual Pediatric Cardiologist who specializes in the teeny tiny hearts of baby's! Our first Ped had just sent us to the hospital for Anibella's Echo, sent the report to a general Cardiologist to be read & then back to them to tell us the news. We waited for a while to be referred to our Pediatric Cardiologist but Dr. Jain followed us closely during the months in between to be sure her heart was sounding the same or better & not worse.  So, finally, on Monday, February 21st, we drove over to Orlando to go to Anibella's new Pediatric Cardiologist. We were so grateful to finally be going to get some answers after 8 long months of wondering, praying & asking God to heal our sweet baby! Anibella had an EKG, another Echocardiogram & a very thorough exam. My sweet baby did not like those super sticky tabs they had to put all over her chest for the EKG, I think there were about 10 of them. Our nurse was such a sweetie & she was so compassionate when she had to pull those sticky tabs off of our baby's soft skin! I could tell it hurt because Anibella has a very high pain tolerance & she was crying so sadly when she pulled them off. : (  Randal was so sweet to Anibella & wanting so much to comfort her!  When she was scared by the EKG sticky tabs, I was cuddling & comforting her & he was holding her hand & whispering into her ear! It was so adorable & made me love my man all the more! : ) Our Bellie Bug is such a sweet, affectionate, cuddly little girl & she absolutely adores her Daddy!  Our nurse even commented on how sweet Anibella is & how cute it is to see her big, strong Daddy being so sweet to his little girl!  : )  We were so happy to hear that, right away, they could tell that Anibella's EKG was totally normal! Yay! Then they did another Echo. As I said before, Anibella had to be completely still & quiet. I was worried because my sweetie isn't nursing anymore & now she is a very busy & curious 15 month-old! Our wonderful Cardiologist, Dr. Sattar, reminded us that if Anibella couldn't be still & quiet, that we could come back in 6 months to a year to try again. She said that because of how healthy Anibella looks & "seems" & because of her great EKG, she wasn't as worried as she would have been had Anibella had some of the classic "heart patient" symptoms & if her EKG hadn't been so great. It was such a relief just to hear that but I was hoping & praying that Anibella could do well through the entire 20 minute Echo so that we could just know & not wonder again for the next 6 months or a year! Well, the Echo room was quiet & dark & they had an Elmo DVD playing. The ultrasound tech encouraged me to give Anibella a snack & a drink or whatever would keep her calm & happy. I gave her Cheerios to nibble on & apple juice to drink. My girlies are usually just water & milk drinkers but I brought her a little cup of apple juice because I knew she would need to be still & completely interested in something that would distract her from the Echo. It was really cute when she tasted her apple juice! She looked at me like, "what is this yummy stuff?!" & just sipped it happily! : ) She sat on my lap, completely still & quiet the entire time, mesmerized by Elmo & that yummy apple juice! : ) I am SO incredibly happy & grateful that she did so well! The ultrasound tech was amazed at how well she did too! : ) My sweet Hubby is such a tender & attentive Daddy! (Although my Hubby has always been so wonderful with our girlies & it should never surprise me, he really still amazes me at how well he does with our girls & how much they adore him!)  He was fully engaged & so tender to Anibella!  During her Echo, he was so sweet & wanting to comfort & take care of Anibella, like he did when she had her EKG.   He was talking to her & encouraging her! It was so sweet! He was saying, "Oh, is Elmo playing with Snuffalupagus?" & "Aw, look, Elmo & Snuffy are having lunch together!" Haha! SO so precious!  : )  I'm so grateful that God has given me such a wonderful Hubby who is such an amazing Daddy to our girlies AND that our 5 girlies love him so much!  As soon as we got back in our room, Dr. Sattar came back in & said that she was thrilled with how Anibella's heart looks! She said that she has a "perfectly healthy heart" & that her "ASD" or the hole in her heart is TOTALLY & COMPLETELY HEALED! YAY! Praise God! We are absolutely overwhelmed by God's kindness & so so so grateful for His amazing grace & mercy! We are so grateful that, sometime in the last 8 months, God healed our precious baby girls' little heart! We both kissed & hugged each other & our baby girl & I was so happy that I started crying when the doctor left the room! We both immediately prayed & thanked God for healing our sweet Anibella! YaaaaaaaY! We are so incredibly grateful to God!

Thank you, our wonderful friends & family, for all of the times you have loved us, sought God on behalf of our sweet baby girl & carried us in your hearts! Our amazing God has heard your (& our!) prayers! He has had mercy on us & healed our precious little Anibella! We are so grateful & we love you all!

I had to share some pictures I took of my Anibella today!  This sweet baby has some PER...SON...AL...I...TYYYYYYY!  : )

One of Anibella's big sissies was "getting her"!  She LOVES when her sissies play with her!  She giggles so hard!  I LOVE it!

This one of her adorable profile totally cracks me up!  That's my Bellie Boo, cute, happy & funny all the time!

This is how my little sweetie prefers to sit in her Bumbo!

Oh, how my sweet Anibella (& ALL of my precious girlies!) absolutely MELT me!  I am so grateful to God for protecting & healing our sweet baby girl!

My Bath Baby!

I love my sweet little yummy-smelling, bath baby girl & her precious little wet eyelashes! Oh, how she melts my heart!
